About the role

We are recruiting for a dedicated Behaviour Support Manager to join a specialist SEN school in Basingstoke, supporting young people with Social, Emotional, Communication and Interaction Difficulties (SECID).The successful Behaviour Support Manager will play a key role in supporting students with their behaviour and wellbeing, building positive relationships and helping young people overcome barriers to learning and success.

Daily duties for Behaviour Support Manager

  • Support and manage student behaviour
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Implement effective behaviour-support strategies
  • Support students during challenging or dysregulated situations
  • Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing
  • Work closely with the wider support team
  • Maintain a consistent approach to behaviour across the school
  • Help students develop important life and independence skills

Requirements for Behaviour Support Manager

  • Previous experience supporting young people
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A valid DBS or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience within SEN, education, care or a similar setting is desirable
