GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and forward-thinking school in Tower Hamlets. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with pupils who require tailored one-to-one support and to become part of a supportive, inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities of Autism TA:
- Deliver 1:1 support to students with Autism and complex needs using a child-centred approach
- Assist with daily classroom tasks and promote inclusive learning
- Implement strategies to support pupils’ communication, learning, and social development
- Adapt learning resources and activities to suit individual needs
- Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to create personalised learning plans
- Encourage student independence, confidence, and resilience
What We’re Looking From a Autism TA:
- Experience supporting children or young people with Autism and/or complex needs
- A solid understanding of ASD and differentiated approaches to learning
- The ability to work calmly and supportively in fast-paced or emotionally challenging environments
- A proactive and resilient attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and SEN support
