GSL Education is seeking a committed and patient ASC Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist school in Southwark. This role focuses on supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional learning needs, helping them to access education in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC.
Assist teachers in delivering differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.
Encourage students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
Support pupils with communication and interaction, including the use of visual aids or alternative communication methods.
Foster independence, confidence, and positive behaviour through consistent support.
Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with Autism or special educational needs is highly desirable.
Compassionate, resilient, and adaptable approach.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
