GSL Education is looking for a dedicated 1:2 Tutor to join our team in Chesterfield. This is a great opportunity for an individual who has a passion for working to support young learners with Looked After Children (LAC) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
As a 1:2 Tutor, you will deliver personalized tutoring sessions designed to meet the unique needs of your students. This role involves providing educational support to two students, with a focus on those with LAC and SEMH needs. You will work closely with them to support their academic progress and personal development.
Your key responsibilities are to:
- Deliver effective tutoring sessions to two students, focusing on their individual learning needs.
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans for academic and emotional support of students.
- Maintain accurate records of sessions, student progress, and any issues that arise.
- Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the students to build their confidence and motivation.
Essential requirements include:
- Proven experience working with Looked After Children (LAC) and students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Relevant teaching or tutoring qualifications.
- Strong understanding of the educational and emotional needs of LAC and SEMH students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
