Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities?
GSL Education are seeking a committed 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to work closely with a pupil in Burton-on-Trent starting September 2025. This role is ideal for someone who can provide personalised support, ensuring the child can access learning and make progress in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities of the 1:1 SEND TA:
- Provide individualised support to a pupil with SEND needs.
- Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons to meet the child’s needs.
- Implement strategies from Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Promote independence, confidence, and social skills.
- Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and parents to support the child’s development.
Requirements for the 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant role:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND, ideally in a 1:1 setting.
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting additional learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when faced with challenges.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
