About the Role
As a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA), you will play a vital role in supporting a student with specific learning needs. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will provide tailored assistance to help the student access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. Your day will be filled with meaningful interactions, creative problem-solving, and the satisfaction of seeing progress firsthand.
Key Responsibilities of 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA)
- Provide personalised 1:1 support to a student with SEND, adapting learning materials and strategies to meet their individual needs.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that encourages independence and self-esteem.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement and review effective support plans.
- Monitor and record the student’s progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents.
- Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and any additional needs the student may have throughout the school day.
Requirements for 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA)
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally in a 1:1 capacity.

- Relevant qualifications or training in SEND support are highly desirable.
