GSL Education are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in schools across Chesterfield. We offer full-time opportunities to support pupils requiring extra emotional and behavioural assistance.
As an SEMH TA, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assisting in the implementation of behaviour support plans and strategies.
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
- Supporting social skills development and helping pupils manage emotions.
- Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to progress monitoring.
Skills & Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs is preferred.
- Full UK driving licence with business insurance is essential.
- Strong communication, patience, and resilience.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- An up-to-date DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A CV covering the last 10 years with any gaps clearly explained.
