Our client school in Sheffiled ( S9) is seeking to recruit a Nurture Teacher to work with students from thier new Y7 intake. This position is full time commencing 1st september for 12 weeks in the first instance with a posibility of a permanent contract for the right person afterwards. A Nurture Teacher position with GSL Education involves working with students, particularly those in Key Stage 3 (KS3) with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), in a nurturing and supportive environment. GSL Education is seeking individuals who are passionate about fostering a safe and positive learning atmosphere where students can thrive academically and emotionally. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Support: Delivering targeted lessons in core subjects like English, Maths, PSCHE, and Humanities, tailored to meet the specific needs of KS3 students with SEMH and other learning challenges.
  • Creating a Nurturing Environment: Building trust, consistency, and confidence in students through a structured and supportive classroom.
  • Promoting Emotional Growth: Helping students develop their social and emotional skills, and fostering positive self-esteem.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Safeguarding: Adhering to safeguarding procedures and promoting a safe and secure learning environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant experience in SEN settings is highly desirable .
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable .
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection is crucial .
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills are essential .
  • An understanding of nurture principles and their application in education .
