GSL Education are currently looking to appoint an experienced Year 3 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant for a client school in Slough, to undertake a placement as soon as possible. We’re searching for a dedicated teaching assistant with experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or additional learning needs.

As a Year 3 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant, you will possess the following:

  • At least one year of experience supporting children with special educational needs, particularly with ASD, in a school or care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of ASD and the strategies needed to support learning and development.
  • The ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for the child.
  • Experience in supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • A positive and patient attitude with a strong commitment to the progress and well-being of the students.
  • Experience working in 1:1 and small group settings.
  • Be a dedicated, caring, and motivated educator, with a passion for making a difference.

Applicants are required to have the following:

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to support individual learning needs.
  • Energetic, patient, and empathetic, with a genuine desire to work with children.
  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application through GSL Education.
  • Be able to provide two professional references.
