About the Role

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Sports Coach to support pupils across a range of physical education and enrichment activities. This role is ideal for someone passionate about sport and youth development, looking to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ physical health, teamwork skills, and overall engagement in school. Opportunities are available on both short-term and long-term bases, with flexible part-time and full-time options.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions across different age groups
  • Support PE lessons alongside teaching staff
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and active participation
  • Adapt activities to meet the needs of pupils, including those with SEN
  • Assist with lunchtime and after-school clubs where required
  • Encourage positive behaviour and inclusion through sport
  • Support pupils’ well-being and confidence-building
  • Provide personal care support where required, in line with school policies

Qualifications

  • Experience coaching or supporting sports activities with children or young people
  • Knowledge of a range of sports and physical activities
  • Ability to engage and motivate pupils of varying abilities
  • Understanding of SEN needs is advantageous
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Relevant coaching or sports qualifications (desirable but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
