About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task. You will supervise classes across a range of subjects, manage behaviour effectively, and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain on task with set work.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, promoting a focused learning environment.
  • Provide clear instructions and support to students to facilitate independent learning.
  • Collect and return completed work to the relevant teacher, offering feedback on lesson outcomes.
  • Support students of varying abilities, ensuring inclusivity and engagement.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain a safe classroom environment at all times.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting is desirable.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Confidence in leading a classroom independently.
  • A proactive, flexible, and professional approach to work.
