About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task. You will supervise classes across a range of subjects, manage behaviour effectively, and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain on task with set work.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, promoting a focused learning environment.
- Provide clear instructions and support to students to facilitate independent learning.
- Collect and return completed work to the relevant teacher, offering feedback on lesson outcomes.
- Support students of varying abilities, ensuring inclusivity and engagement.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain a safe classroom environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting is desirable.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Confidence in leading a classroom independently.
- A proactive, flexible, and professional approach to work.
