About the Role As a SEN Teaching Assistant , you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) , helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in their academic and personal development. Teach a range of subjects to students aged 11-16 . Work closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment. Implement individualized support plans and strategies. Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive interactions. Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed. Monitor and report on student progress and well-being. Requirements of SEN Teaching Assistant Relevant qualifications in supporting students with special educational needs (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people. Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential). To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant , you will need: Have the right to work in the UK. Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
