What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Assisting with personalised learning and behaviour plans alongside teachers and SENCOs.
  • Helping students develop emotional regulation and positive coping strategies.
  • Creating a safe and structured learning environment that fosters engagement.
  • Encouraging positive relationships between students and staff.
  • Supporting the delivery of well-being and social skills interventions.
  • Tracking student progress and providing feedback to teachers and support teams.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or child development (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ).
  • Experience supporting children with SEMH needs in schools, alternative provisions, or youth work.
  • Knowledge of the primary curriculum and adapting learning for children with SEMH challenges.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • A strong grasp of attachment theory and trauma-informed practices.
  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • An up-to-date CV (covering the last 10 years with no unexplained gaps).
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
