About the Role As a Secondary ECT, you will take an active role in delivering engaging lessons, fostering academic achievement, and creating a safe and inclusive learning atmosphere. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality and engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum. Plan and adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and maintain accurate records. Create a classroom culture based on mutual respect, inclusion, and high expectations. Work collaboratively with senior staff, mentors, and fellow teachers to develop your professional practice. Participate in wider school life and contribute to the academic and pastoral development of pupils. Requirements for the Secondary ECT role: A recognised UK teaching qualification with QTS or ECT. Recent teaching placement or classroom-based experience, ideally within secondary education. Strong subject knowledge and confidence in managing a classroom. Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development. A proactive attitude, resilience, and a passion for inspiring young learners. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
