Schools across Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding areas including Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Gateshead, Redcar and Ashington are seeking committed Secondary Teachers – Raising Attainment to support pupils across a range of secondary settings. This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about improving outcomes, driving pupil progress, and delivering targeted support to help students reach their academic potential.
The successful candidate will focus on delivering high-quality teaching, identifying learning gaps, and implementing effective strategies to raise attainment across key stages. This opportunity offers the chance to make a measurable impact across schools committed to achievement and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the secondary curriculum
- Identifying gaps in learning and implementing targeted intervention strategies
- Supporting pupils to improve attainment and academic confidence
- Monitoring progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs
- Promoting high expectations for behaviour and classroom engagement
- Maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching within a secondary school setting
- Demonstrate a strong track record of raising pupil attainment
- Be confident using assessment to inform teaching practice
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
- Have a fully checkable work history
This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must satisfy safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
