Welcoming and supportive schools based in Newcastle upon Tyne are seeking dedicated Primary Teachers with a Pastoral Focus to support pupils across Newcastle and surrounding areas including Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Gateshead, Redcar and Ashington. This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about both teaching and supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development.
The successful candidates will deliver engaging primary lessons while also providing pastoral guidance to pupils who may require additional emotional or behavioural support. This opportunity offers the chance to work flexibly across a range of school settings while making a meaningful impact on pupil progress and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:- Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
- Supporting pupils with emotional wellbeing and pastoral needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and strong classroom routines
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Supporting pupils who may face barriers to learning
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching within a primary school setting
- Demonstrate strong pastoral awareness and behaviour support skills
- Be confident supporting pupils with additional emotional needs
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
- Have a fully checkable work history
This role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must satisfy safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
