About the Role:

As an ECT Maths Teacher, you will teach Key Stage 3 and 4 Maths, delivering engaging and meaningful lessons that help students develop a solid understanding of the subject. You’ll work closely with senior colleagues and receive tailored guidance throughout your ECT programme.

Key Responsibilities of an ECT Maths Teacher:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Inspire and challenge students to develop analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress effectively
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for learning
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and senior leadership
  • Actively participate in CPD and the school’s structured ECT induction programme

Requirements to be an ECT Maths Teacher:

  • QTS or working towards QTS as part of the ECT framework
  • A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
  • Strong classroom presence and effective behaviour management skills
  • Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-level Maths
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a desire to continually develop
  • A full, up-to-date CV with references covering the last 10 years
  • Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
