About the Role:
As an ECT Maths Teacher, you will teach Key Stage 3 and 4 Maths, delivering engaging and meaningful lessons that help students develop a solid understanding of the subject. You’ll work closely with senior colleagues and receive tailored guidance throughout your ECT programme.
Key Responsibilities of an ECT Maths Teacher:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Inspire and challenge students to develop analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Assess, record, and report on student progress effectively
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for learning
- Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and senior leadership
- Actively participate in CPD and the school’s structured ECT induction programme
Requirements to be an ECT Maths Teacher:
- QTS or working towards QTS as part of the ECT framework
- A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
- Strong classroom presence and effective behaviour management skills
- Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-level Maths
- A positive, can-do attitude and a desire to continually develop
- A full, up-to-date CV with references covering the last 10 years
- Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
