About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will support pupils across various year groups, working alongside class teachers to enhance their learning experience. With a focus on phonics instruction and the primary curriculum, you will help strengthen literacy skills by delivering targeted interventions and offering individual and small-group support, ensuring every child can engage with their learning effectively. Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant (TA): Support the teacher in delivering lessons and activities to a primary school class, ensuring that every child has access to the curriculum and is fully engaged in learning. Work one-on-one with students with SEN to support their specific learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential. Assist with group work and independent tasks, ensuring that all children can participate at their level. Monitor students' progress and provide feedback to both the teacher and the students to track development. Assist with classroom management, ensuring that the classroom remains a positive, focused and respectful learning space. Encourage children’s social and emotional development, helping them build positive relationships with peers and staff. Assist with personal care and routine activities, ensuring the well-being of students throughout the day. Support the preparation of learning resources, making the classroom environment engaging and stimulating. Requirements of the Teaching Assistant (TA): Primary school-based experience is essential, particularly within the context of working with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN). A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in working with children who have a variety of learning needs, including but not limited to Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities. Use child-centred approach. Able to support on a 1:1 basis. A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3) or equivalent experience. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
