Job Advert: Sports Teaching Assistant – Sports-Focused School Location: Surrey Start Date: September 2025 (Early start available before summer holidays) Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 14:00pm Salary: Dependent on experience Are you passionate about sports and physical education? A dynamic and sports-focused provision in Surrey is seeking an enthusiastic PE Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a love for sport, coaching, or fitness who wants to make a real impact in a school environment. Key Responsibilities: Supporting PE lessons across all year groups, helping deliver high-quality physical education Assisting with the setup and supervision of sports activities, games, and equipment Leading or co-leading small group sessions, including fitness, skill development, and teamwork exercises Supporting students with varying abilities to participate confidently and safely Assisting with extracurricular sports clubs, teams, and school events Ideal Candidate: Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or coaching setting Brings energy, positivity, and a genuine interest in physical activity and student development Holds a relevant sports or coaching qualification (desirable but not essential) Has an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential) Is reliable, professional, and confident supporting a wide range of sporting activities This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to build a career in education, coaching, or sports development, within a school that values physical education and student wellbeing.
