GSL Education is excited to appoint a dedicated SEN TA to provide 1:1 support for students with autism and challenging behaviour in Hackney schools. This role is perfect for someone calm, proactive, and supportive in demanding situations.

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you'll support individual pupils in managing behaviour, accessing learning, and building positive routines. The role requires adapting strategies to meet emotional, social, and academic needs while maintaining clear boundaries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with autism and challenging behaviour.
  • Implement behaviour strategies and support emotional regulation.
  • Assist students in accessing classroom learning and activities.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to follow tailored plans.
  • Promote a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a SEN TA or in a similar support role.
  • Confidence supporting pupils with autism and behavioural needs.
  • Strong communication skills and a resilient, patient approach.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
