Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Teacher: Deliver engaging engineering lessons across KS4 and KS5 (including BTEC or equivalent). Develop learners’ understanding of core engineering principles, design processes, and practical application. Plan and deliver hands-on lessons using specialist tools, CAD software, and workshop equipment. Track and assess student progress, providing clear feedback and support. Contribute to the development of the STEM curriculum and promote engineering-related activities. Ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment in compliance with health and safety standards. Requirements of the Engineering Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Degree or relevant qualification in engineering or related subject. Experience teaching engineering in a school setting. Knowledge of relevant qualifications (e.g., BTEC, OCR Nationals). Excellent classroom management and strong communication skills. Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
