GSL Education London Branch are looking for an experienced Cover Coordinator to join a welcoming and well-organised coeducational comprehensive secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Cover Coordinator who enjoys working in a fast-paced school environment and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth daily running of cover arrangements.
As a Cover Coordinator, you will be at the heart of the school's operations, managing daily cover, liaising with staff and agencies, and supporting high-quality learning across the school. The successful Cover Coordinator will be confident, organised, and able to work calmly under pressure. This role is ideal for someone with strong administration skills and proven experience in a secondary school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate daily staff cover across the secondary school and sixth form
- Use the SIMS cover system accurately and efficiently
- Liaise with supply agencies regarding daily and short-term cover needs
- Communicate clearly with teaching staff and senior leaders about cover arrangements
- Ensure all cover is in place to support continuity of learning
- Step in to cover lessons when required
- Maintain clear and accurate records related to cover and staffing
Requirements:
- Previous cover experience in a secondary school
- Strong working knowledge of the SIMS cover system
- Experience liaising with agencies for daily supply staff
- Excellent administration and organisational skills
- Willingness to cover lessons when required
- Ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy environment
- Available to start immediately
