Location: Southgate

Pay Rate: £90 - £105 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Contract: Long-term, Full-time

Working Hours: 8.15 AM - 3:45 PM

GSL Education are looking to appoint a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Southgate. In this role, the Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) will provide consistent individual support to students with additional needs, helping them access learning in a structured and encouraging environment while working closely with teaching staff.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver focused 1:1 SEN support tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assist students in accessing lessons and understanding learning tasks.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in the classroom.
  • Maintain a calm and supportive learning environment in line with school expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers regarding student progress and behaviour.
  • Support the preparation of learning resources and classroom organisation.

Requirements

  • Experience and sound knowledge of SEN support.
  • Recent, relevant experience within a primary school setting.
  • Ability to confidently deliver 1:1 SEN support tailored to individual needs.
  • Strong understanding of school policies and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A good standard of spoken and written English.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • An updated CV covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps.
