About the role

We have various rewarding opportunities for a dedicated Music Teacher to work within a range of secondary schools across the county. The selected Music Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities for Key Stage 5 instruction in many of our partner schools. We work with a diverse array of secondary schools throughout Kent, from high-achieving grammar schools to creative-focused academies. As a Music Teacher, you will be welcomed into collaborative departments where creativity is celebrated and student participation is high. We are looking for a Music Teacher who is adaptable, professional, and ready to make a musical impact from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality and inspiring Music lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
  • Foster a love for music through practical performance and creative composition.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a productive rehearsal and learning environment.
  • Support students in using music technology and traditional instruments.
  • Adhere to school-specific policies on safeguarding, assessment, and inclusion.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or have significant experience teaching the UK Music curriculum.
  • Have a proven ability to teach Music at least up to Key Stage 4.
  • Possess strong classroom management skills and a professional, reliable approach.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Meet GSL's safer recruitment background checks.
  • Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
