Could you be the consistent, caring support a pupil needs to feel confident and succeed at school? GSL Education Kent Branch are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of the schools in Dartford. This is a great opportunity for a patient and supportive person who enjoys helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and make progress in the classroom.
As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have special educational needs, providing 1:1 and small-group support where required. The successful candidate will build positive relationships with pupils, encourage engagement, and help create a calm and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils as an SEN TA
- Support learning, communication, and emotional development
- Help pupils stay focused and engaged during lessons
- Encourage positive behaviour and independence
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff
- Adapt your approach to meet individual pupil needs
Requirements for the SEN TA role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN is advantageous
- Patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
