Salary: £150 - £250 per day
GSL Education is working with a specialist provision in Scarborough that caters to students with a range of additional needs, including ASC, MLD, SLD, SEMH, and communication difficulties. The school is currently seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to work with a class of pupils aged 10 to 12, with an immediate start date. This is a full-time, long-term role offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young learners with diverse needs.
About the Role as an SEN Teacher:
- Delivering creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons to a small group of KS3 learners (Years 6 - 8).
- Creating a nurturing classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence, and learning.
- Working closely with support staff and therapists to deliver an inclusive and consistent approach.
- Planning and assessing lessons in line with EHCP targets and school expectations.
As the Ideal SEN Teacher, you should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) Essential.
- Previous experience working in an SEN or alternative provision setting.
- Knowledge of autism spectrum conditions, SEMH, and differentiated teaching strategies.
- Committed to promoting a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning experience for all.
- Confident in using positive behaviour management techniques.
