About the Role as a Catering Teaching Assistant:
This unique opportunity involves working as a Teaching Assistant within the school’s Catering and Hospitality department, supporting students in their learning while also assisting with food preparation, serving lunches, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. You will work closely with the cook and teaching staff to help deliver practical catering lessons while ensuring the smooth running of the school’s meal service.
Key Responsibilities as a Catering Teaching Assistant:
- Support students in Catering and Hospitality lessons, helping them develop practical cooking skills.
- Assist the cook with food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining hygiene standards.
- Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and organised before and after mealtimes.
- Provide classroom support, helping students with learning activities and practical tasks.
- Encourage independence and confidence in students by promoting a hands-on approach to learning.
- Uphold food safety and hygiene regulations in accordance with school policies.
