The predicted salary is between 22000 - 26000 £ per year.

Location: Blandford Forum

Salary Scale: £88.94 per day

Start Date: February 2026

Contract type: Temporary, long term permanent for the right candidate

At GSL Education, we are supporting a Special Needs school in Blandford Forum who are seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis with the idea of going permanent!

The school offers an alternative to mainstream school for students who need a more tailored approach to education due to their SEND and behavioural needs. The school caters for children across KS1-4 and are seeking TAs who are open to supporting a wide age range. They aim to reintegrate children back into mainstream education where possible and encourage all children to sit their exams and assist them in reaching their full potential.

The children have Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs and we are seeking those who are experienced with SEMH, challenging behaviour and those who understand and can be patient with a child’s progress.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have UK experience working with Special needs children
  • Feel comfortable working in challenging 1:1 environments
  • Be available full time
  • Be an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who leads by example
  • Have strong behaviour management
  • Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills with all individuals, including pupils, colleagues and parents
