1:1 Teaching Assistant We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in a lovely primary school in Colchester starting in September. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to a child’s educational journey, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development throughout the school day. The child requires tailored support to access learning confidently and to develop independence within the classroom. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team to deliver personalised interventions and adapt learning resources to meet their needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide focused 1:1 support to a primary-aged child Adapt learning materials to suit their ability and preferred learning style Encourage engagement and participation in class activities Support with social interaction and emotional regulation strategies Monitor and record progress, feeding back to the class teacher and SENCO Promote inclusion and ensure the child feels safe, valued, and encouraged Assist with personal care if required (depending on individual needs) About You: Experience supporting children in an educational setting (1:1 SEN experience desirable) A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach to learning support Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and parents Understanding of SEN strategies and needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH) is beneficial Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate are desirable Who are GSL Education & Why Register with Us?
