About the Role: As a Special Education Needs TA (SEN TA), you will play a key role in supporting students with diverse needs, helping them achieve their academic, social, and emotional goals. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring to pupils with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH, supporting their academic progress, emotional well-being, and social development. Assist in delivering personalised learning activities both inside and outside the classroom, encouraging engagement through practical, sensory, and real-world experiences. Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and self-confidence by modelling strategies and supporting pupils in managing challenges effectively. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to adapt learning plans, ensuring consistency and tailored support for each child’s individual needs. Encourage participation in physical education, outdoor learning, and life-skills activities to support holistic development and well-being. Key Requirements: Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a school or educational setting. Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and inclusive teaching practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and families. Patience, empathy, and resilience, with the ability to adapt approaches to meet individual learning and emotional needs. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while supporting pupils’ independence, confidence, and personal development.
