The School: The school has an outstanding Ofsted rating and provides a caring, therapeutic environment for students aged 5-25 with special educational needs, especially those with autism and complex learning disabilities. It aims to create a home-like atmosphere where every student can learn and grow, no matter their challenges. The focus is on helping students build confidence, independence, and social skills while fostering meaningful relationships with peers and staff. The school values each student\’s unique contributions and works to develop their whole selves intellectually, morally, and physically. About the Role: As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support classroom learning and provide additional help to pupils as needed. You will help create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils across the curriculum. Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons. Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development. Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive attitudes. Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials. Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff. Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and activities. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to meet pupil needs. Promote independence and confidence in learning. Support extracurricular activities and school trips as required. Requirements: Experience working in a UK primary school or similar setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting children. Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or equivalent (desirable but not mandatory). Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
