We are looking for a forward-thinking person to join our world class teams to support the Ware manufacturing site’s laboratories. We are seeking someone who can innovate our processes and work within a team to drive the lab forward, whilst ensuring continued product supply is maintained. This role is aligned to provide support to the Raw Materials and Oral & Solid Dose (OSD) functions at the Ware site.

Job Purpose: The Lead Analyst is proficient in numerous analytical techniques (for example; HPLC set up and use). You will support the laboratory Team Leader by providing expert laboratory analytical services for the site to ensure delivery of compliant products to our customers. This includes trouble-shooting and identifying remedial actions in line with procedure and working on specific initiatives aligned to Laboratory strategy.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the laboratory management team in overseeing the execution of batch/job testing and release (typically for one testing group).
  • Supporting the delivery of compliance activities.
  • Providing guidance and support to the Analysts in the team.
  • Preparing and checking data accurately (according to company, customer and regulatory requirements) and verifying quality/accuracy of results (e.g.; material meets pre-defined acceptance criteria).

Within your job you will ensure Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and compliance with EHS regulations in the laboratory are maintained at all times. Maintaining working relationships with local areas, customers, and suppliers (including contributing to improvement initiatives within the laboratory group as well as with cross-functional teams) is imperative.

About You: This role would suit a motivated person who has a vision of moving into management roles in the future. You will have strong knowledge and experience of laboratory testing techniques within intermediate and final products in a GMP (Quality) environment. People skills and a proven ability to work in a team (e.g.; flexible approach, good communication, planning and organizational skills) are important. You should also have good report writing skills, a strong continuous improvement mindset, and a willingness to work towards standardised and GPS working practices.

Basic qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience obtained from working in a highly-regulated industry.
  • Knowledge/experience of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), understands its impact on their own role and the implications of not following cGMP.
  • Experience of managing/planning day to day activities for a team.
  • Experience in root causing of Laboratory Investigations and Deviations.
