We are seeking a strategic, highly motivated, organized, and detail‑oriented professional to support Discovery & Early Development across the HIV and Global Health portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and/or contribute to asset strategy and evidence strategy, and lead development of the integrated project plan to ensure feasibility and alignment with therapeutic area strategy, prioritization, and pipeline performance objectives.
  • Own the single integrated plan that builds team commitment to shared goals with schedules and budgets based on clear dependencies and assumptions.
  • Lead options planning, generate recommendations, alternatives, and trade‑offs to strengthen decision‑making and optimize the project strategy.
  • Lead team preparation for governance decisions and own schedule, risk, and budget inputs.
  • Identify opportunities to accelerate milestones by challenging constraints that impact critical path and near‑critical path activities.
  • Orchestrate seamless handoffs with focus on the critical path through proactive project plan monitoring, risk management, and cross‑functional management of project issues with timely escalation to leadership as required.
  • Ensure rigor, consistency, and compliance in established systems to drive timely, high‑quality data and reporting in and across projects.
  • Build trusting relationships with the team and stakeholders to encourage transparency and collaboration.
  • Use strong facilitation skills to lead regular project team meetings and apply consistent best practices for meeting agendas, actions, minutes, and other meeting documentation.
  • Establish and sustain agreed‑upon ways of working for effective team communication, decisions, and conflict resolution.
  • Work on any assignment as directed. You may manage multiple projects across multiple assets and support other workstreams including global health advocacy, business development, and project‑management infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in life sciences or related technical discipline (e.g., drug discovery & development, biology, biochemistry, immunology, pharmacology, toxicology).
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery/early‑phase development project management.
  • Experience delivering drug development projects within agreed time, cost, and quality, and managing integrated project plans within enterprise management systems.
  • Experience leading, integrating, influencing, motivating, and inspiring high‑performing cross‑functional matrix teams, fostering a shared sense of purpose, coaching toward issue resolution, and managing conflict.
  • Experience with stakeholder management and developing executive‑level scientific/business case briefing presentations for governance interactions.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership in a matrix environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills to convey complex information clearly and succinctly.
  • Knowledge of GSK/ViiV processes and systems.
  • Specific knowledge and experience in infectious disease (e.g., HIV or Global Health importance).
  • Experience working within a pharmaceutical HIV and/or Global Health franchise.
  • Advanced degree in a scientific discipline and/or MBA.
  • Formal Project Management Training or Certification (e.g., PMP) in good standing.
  • Comfortable with and knowledgeable about AI tools for project management, applying them appropriately to improve planning, analysis, communication, and team efficiency.
