Overview
As VP, Oncology Clinical Development Disease Area Head, you will shape and execute the clinical development strategy for hematologic cancers across the asset lifecycle, leading a cross-functional team to accelerate impactful therapies. You’ll align scientific and translational work with regulatory and market priorities, while engaging with governance forums and external partners. The role combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership in a matrix environment to deliver patients faster access to differentiated medicines. This position offers global scope and cross-site collaboration within a senior, mission-driven culture.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end clinical development for hematology/oncology assets from FTIH to launch readiness
- Shape disease-area and asset development strategy aligned with portfolio priorities
- Integrate translational and biomarker strategies into development decisions
- Champion novel trial designs, AI/ML, and external data sources when value is clear
- Provide program-level oversight and governance across the Oncology portfolio
- Represent development in governance forums and at external engagements
- Co-lead asset development with matrix leadership partners across R&D, Medical, and Commercial
- Mentor and develop Clinical Development Leads and Medical Directors while promoting empowerment and collaboration
- Contribute to standard-setting for development processes and regulatory readiness
- Ensure access to external scientific intelligence to inform decisions
Key requirements
- Medical degree with board certification or eligibility in oncology
- ≥10 years of global clinical development experience in hematology/oncology
- Senior leadership in early- and late-phase oncology development including FTIH through launch
- Track record in designing and delivering late-phase trials and regulatory submissions
- Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and complex, multi-stakeholder programs
- Executive presence and credibility
