The Transformation Excellence Manager will be accountable for developing and embedding Programme and Change Management Excellence standards across Haleon, setting a single enterprise framework for how change is mobilised, governed, and translated into measurable value. The Manager will also help define Haleon’s transformation excellence strategy across programme and change management, translating the strategy into clear initiatives and driving execution. This role will be responsible for owning the enterprise transformation capability and driving the continuous improvement of our transformation approach across programme and change management. This includes defining role standards and competency frameworks, creating a knowledge hub, running an excellence cycle, supporting transformation teams in the adoption of new ways of working, and advocating for excellence across our transformation initiatives. The Manager will also have a key role in analysing and communicating the progression of our transformation agenda to our leadership. The Manager will report to the Head of Transformation Excellence and will support our enterprise transformation teams and initiatives, helping Haleon deliver major benefits over the duration of its transformation journey. This role will embed consistent delivery approaches and best practices in all our transformation initiatives.
The role will require working closely with a network of portfolio teams, programme teams and other key stakeholders to embed excellence and provide executives and leadership with the expertise and information to support transformation decision-making. The role is based in London, Bankside HQ, UK.
Key responsibilities
- Help define Haleon’s transformation excellence strategy across programme and change management - translating the strategy into clear initiatives.
- Develop and embed the enterprise transformation capability framework and methodology, including defining role standards and competency frameworks for the transformation professionals, and designing learning pathways.
- Help define and provide expertise on portfolio and programme management capability frameworks, standards and processes where needed.
- Drive the continuous improvement of our transformation approach by sharing best practices, and running a transformation excellence cycle, including retrospectives, after action reviews and playbook refreshes.
- Contribute to a transformation knowledge hub of best practices, case studies, examples and re-usable assets for other transformation initiatives, including curating transformation toolkits.
- Set the 3rd party vendor and tooling strategy and enterprise guardrails for portfolio, programme, project and change management, and govern data standards.
- Support transformation teams in the adoption of new ways of working and help develop a culture of transformation and adoption across the organisation.
- Actively contribute to transformation communities of practice, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for other transformation colleagues.
- Drive transformation portfolio insight generation and sharing to support decision making and communicate findings to executives and senior stakeholders.
- Produce regular transformation insights reports, including trends, benchmarks and implications for our transformation agenda and initiatives.
- Stay informed and knowledgeable about transformation best practices, tools, methodologies and skills.
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders, transformation teams and functional leads to drive delivery excellence and embed standardised transformation practices.
- Model and foster in the organisation a transformation mindset and culture.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
- An experienced transformation lead with a proven track record of navigating large and complex global organisations.
- Brings experience of working in a global transformation environment or supporting transformation initiatives, including the design, planning, governance, phasing, change and control implementation and is able to translate an enterprise transformation strategy into execution through structured initiatives.
- Proven record of driving continuous improvement across transformation, including sharing best practices, curating case studies and toolkits, and supporting teams through transitions.
- Deep understanding of transformation, and able to act as a subject matter expert in this area, identifying opportunities to modernise and improve processes through new ways of working or technologies.
- Good knowledge of transformation management techniques and their practical implementation, including change management and cross-functional delivery.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills, with ability to influence and inspire transformation teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of capability process mapping, design and execution.
- Prior experience of designing and working in successful Transformation Offices and leading teams in industry and/or consulting / professional service.
- Understanding of programme management methodologies and techniques, such as agile or waterfall and risk and dependency management.
- Ideally brings depth of understanding of consumer businesses across a range of operating models in a multinational context.
