Scientist, Immunology/Haematology

We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with experience in immunology/haematology to join the Oncology Translational Research team in GSK Oncology. The successful candidate will work as part of a team that supports translational haematology efforts, bringing together the science of immunology, novel technologies and working with our partners with AI/ML and analytics to generate translational data to support GSK’s haematology portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

As a lab-based immunologist, you will:

• Support the establishment of our ex vivo translational model capabilities to include development and application of novel haematology translational models that can be used to support progression of GSK assets, understand MoA and evaluate combinations.
• Conduct haematology disease sample profiling (eg. From biobanks) to support exploration of patient segments that may respond to GSK assets and combinations.
• Independently develop flow cytometry protocols and antibodies panels (20+ colours) and apply these panels to perform immunophenotyping.
• Solve technical issues and operate as part of a cross-functional project team.

Basic Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent experience in Immunology or Haematology
• Hands on experience of complex immunology experimental approaches (eg. Complex co-culture, ex vivo testing from patient samples etc.).
• Experience of performing independent immune cell characterization using multi-colour cytometry (>10 colours).
• Track record of delivering high quality, consistent results in a timely fashion with a positive can-do and result oriented attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in haematology, especially multiple myeloma and MPNs.
• A track record of scientific publication
• Expertise in cancer haematology, including the molecular mechanisms underlying progression from precursors to cancer states
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex scientific and business challenges
• Evidence of effective troubleshooting and assay development ability.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
