You will lead project operations across a UK manufacturing site, delivering operational excellence while working closely with engineering, quality, supply chain and project teams. You will manage project execution, resource planning and continuous improvement work that keeps production safe, compliant and reliable. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Lead the production-facing project delivery model for capital, NPI and change programmes, balancing project demand with safe, compliant and reliable base business supply.
- Manage and prioritise the operational resource pool supporting projects, ensuring the right capability is assigned in line with business priorities and constraints.
- Provide leadership to project-focused operational technologists and resources supporting execution, trials, validation and readiness activities.
- Ensure projects receive appropriate operational input from concept through implementation, covering manufacturability, readiness, standard work and handover requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, MSAT, quality and site operations to resolve production-related constraints, risks and issues during project execution.
- Maintain GMP, EHS, data integrity and inspection readiness while providing governance, escalation and reporting across project delivery, risks, resources and readiness status.
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:
- Degree or vocational qualification in engineering, science, project management or a technical discipline.
- Experience managing projects or operations in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Track record delivering projects on time, to budget and to specification.
- Strong stakeholder management and clear communication skills across functions.
- Practical problem solving and risk management skills.
- Experience coaching or leading teams to improve performance.
- Ability to work on-site and engage with operations, engineering and quality teams.
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methods such as lean or Six Sigma.
- Experience supporting new product introductions, transfers or scale-up activities.
- Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems or electronic batch records.
- Experience managing shift-based teams or complex rostering.
This role is on-site at Barnard Castle. You should be prepared to work from the manufacturing site regularly to collaborate with shop floor teams and cross-functional partners.
