Responsibilities

  • Lead programme delivery, monitor progress, track changes, and initiate corrective actions as required.
  • Provide timely, accurate reporting for programme and site governance forums (Site Improvement Plan, Cost per Unit initiatives, Strategy Reviews).
  • Define and allocate resources via Project Charter processes; manage cross‑project prioritisation and interdependencies.
  • Own programme risk and issue management; implement mitigations and escalation where needed.
  • Maintain and lead governance for the site SIP, ensuring all programmes are current and benefits tracked.
  • Support Worthing Strategy Reviews and the annual Strategy Deployment process.
  • Act as project or programme manager on significant initiatives as needed.
  • Run workshops to drive process improvement and site priorities.
  • Coach, train and mentor project managers to develop site capability and a continuous improvement culture.

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in matrix leadership and cross‑functional influence.
  • Proven project and/or programme management experience with strong stakeholder management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication tailored to different audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex, ambiguous interdependencies.
  • Coaching experience and ability to develop others.
  • Resilient, self‑motivated, and able to work proactively in alignment with site strategy.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority across levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal project management qualification (PRINCE2, APM, PMP or equivalent).
  • Experience in regulated or healthcare environments with an understanding of compliance.
  • Background in digital/technology delivery or business systems.
  • Experience measuring project outcomes and demonstrating business impact.
  • Practical skills in process improvement, automation or Lean/Six Sigma methods.
  • Proven track record of coaching and influencing in a matrix organisation.

Secondment Details

This 18‑month secondment opportunity offers visible impact and career development by leading programme delivery and governance at GSK’s Worthing site.
