Overview
In this role you lead Orals production to meet output and schedule targets while upholding safety and quality. You work closely with cross‑functional teams to drive performance, training, and smooth handovers. You will ensure GMP compliance and apply problem‑solving to keep lines running. This position offers hands‑on leadership in a high‑hazard, regulated manufacturing environment at Worthing, with real scope to shape process improvements and people development.
Responsibilities
- Lead production lines to meet output and schedule targets with hands‑on support while maintaining safety and quality
- Communicate shift targets, prepare lines for success, and hand over effectively to the next Production Lead
- Drive performance, challenge team members, and escalate when additional support is needed
- Create and implement technician training plans and provide operational coverage when required
- Maintain accurate hourly/daily metrics, monitor shift performance, and support problem solving and changeovers
- Ensure GMP, safety, and regulatory compliance including GPS 5S and housekeeping; support investigations
- Complete BPR preparation/reviews, MERP activities, reconciliations, and OOS investigations on time
- Lead Tier 1 activity for allocated zones, manage OEE targets and toolkit use, and support pallet movement and waste management
Key requirements
- A levels or GCSEs (Maths and English)
- Experience leading technicians in a similar production area
- Ability to run production lines within the area
- SAP knowledge
- Ability to follow Leader Standard Work
- Logical fault finding leading to timely decisions
- Basic GPS knowledge for problem solving
- Knowledge of audit processes, preparation and requirements
