Position purpose: The ViiV HR Business Leader (HRBL) is a senior strategic HR partner and member of the ViiV HR Leadership Team, driving the design delivery of the ViiV Healthcare people strategy. The role partners directly with senior leaders (SVPs) and their leadership teams across Global Commercial Strategy, the Europe & International Commercial Region, Global Medical and Global Functions, bringing deep business insight, enterprise judgement and constructive challenge to shape organisation, talent, leadership and culture decisions that enable ViiV’s ambition and mission.
Key responsibilities:
- Building Capability & Talent: Use business insight, external perspective and internal talent data to diagnose current and future capability gaps, prioritise critical roles and build practical plans at global, regional and functional levels. Lead talent conversations that strengthen succession, accelerate development of high-potential leaders and improve readiness for strategically important roles across Commercial, Medical and Global Functions.
- Leadership Development: Act as a trusted coach and strategic adviser to senior leaders, using insight, feedback and constructive challenge to strengthen leadership effectiveness, decision quality and organisational alignment. Support leaders to translate strategy into clear leadership priorities, operating rhythms and team effectiveness interventions that improve business performance.
- Change Management & Organisation Design: Lead and enable complex change, transformation and organisation design activity across global, regional and functional boundaries, ensuring structures, roles, ways of working and capabilities are aligned to ViiV’s strategy. Drive digital, data and AI-enabled ways of working, building the skills, mindsets and adoption plans required to embed new capabilities sustainably. Partner with senior leaders to develop and evaluate structural and operating model options that improve business performance, decision-making and accountability.
- Culture & Engagement: Translate the business agenda into a clear culture and engagement plan that enables ViiV to deliver what matters better and faster. Lead implementation of ViiV Healthcare’s priorities, partnering with leaders to build high-performing environments. Use engagement data, listening insights and leadership feedback to diagnose opportunities and shape practical actions that improve trust, accountability and team effectiveness.
- Talent Leadership – Accountable Talent Lead: Own and lead the ViiV Healthcare enterprise talent strategy, ensuring priorities are explicitly linked to the business strategy, future capability needs and leadership pipeline requirements. Connect talent insights across countries, regions and functions to identify enterprise themes, risks and opportunities, shaping targeted interventions that strengthen leadership bench, diversity and readiness.
Requirements:
- Educational Background: Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience). Area of Specialisation: HR, Business, Organisational Psychology or related discipline.
- Job-Related Experience: Significant HR business partnering experience with senior leaders, including translating business strategy into people, organisation, talent and culture priorities. Experience operating in fast-moving, complex and ambiguous environments, balancing enterprise priorities with regional, functional and local requirements. Experience of integrating digital, data and tech into workforce strategy. Strong experience working in matrixed global organisations with multiple stakeholders, lines of authority and competing priorities. Proven ability to influence, challenge and coach senior leaders across a complex network, building trust while holding leaders to account for outcomes. Experience connecting multiple initiatives into a coherent strategic plan, driving execution and embedding adoption across countries, regions and teams. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capability, with the ability to ask the right questions. Experience leading organisation design, restructures, transformation and change activity across international and functional boundaries. Experience building leaders’ capability to lead inclusively, sustain change, improve engagement and create high-performing team environments. Experience owning and delivering an enterprise talent management strategy linked to business strategy, succession, leadership development and future capability needs.
Working pattern: This role is hybrid, with a requirement to be on site three days per week.
