About the Role: At Haleon, our ambition is to offer progressive and market competitive Employee Benefits, including Pensions, so that we can be industry leading in health & wellbeing, enabling employees to thrive. As a new, standalone organisation, Haleon has inherited a rich and complex set of legacy retirement plans across approximately 45 countries. This Pension Manager role is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Global Pension transformation, and to support the Global Head of Pensions to shape how Haleon governs, oversees and monitors these arrangements.

In this role you will be the subject matter expert for our UK and Irish pension plans. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our pension policies and processes as well as managing complex pension issues or risks. You will partner closely with our Benefits, Global Reward Delivery and People Solutions teams, as well as HR and Reward Business Partners. You will also participate in Global Pensions transformation projects and work alongside Haleon’s Reward Business Partners on pension-related projects across Europe, Middle East and Africa and APAC. The role will also work closely with the Executive Reward and Global Mobility teams to support the Executive and International Assignee populations. This position reports to the Global Head of Pensions and will be based in our Bankside office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily management of the UK and Irish retirement plans and insured programs, including third-party vendor management, data and record management, co-ordination of the Retirement Trustee, liaison with technical advisors and Fiduciary Bodies.
  • Enhancement of employee understanding by developing clear and engaging communication strategies, including partnering with Pension vendors such as AON, Wealth at Work or other vendors on trainings and other engagement tools.
  • Application of expert knowledge to simplify, ensure compliance, react to changes in legislation and continuously improve Pension operations, partnering with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
  • As subject matter expert, you will be the escalation point for complex pension queries, partnering closely with other teams, including Global Mobility, Executive Reward, People Solutions, Payroll, HR Policy Forum and HR & Reward Business Partners.
  • Participate in global pension transformation projects, working alongside with the Global Head of Pensions.
  • Pension-related projects across Europe, Middle East and Africa and APAC, working alongside Haleon’s Reward Business Partners.
  • Managing the day-to-day activities related to the International Pension plan and supporting Trustee/ consultants on future Investment and Plan strategies.
  • Supporting the Global Benefits Programs and Projects, including M&A, Global Wellness programs and other Global Benefits initiatives and strategies.

Skills / Experience:

  • Experience working with post-retirement and other benefits and providing guidance to the providers to ensure accurate administration of the plans.
  • Practical knowledge and application of UK and Ireland pension and post-retirement benefits (DB, DC, Mixed Benefit Pension schemes, etc).
  • Deals well with complexity and ambiguity and prioritises strategically.
  • Business focussed, commercial and pragmatic – a creative problem solver.
  • Operates independently and is comfortable taking the lead and being accountable.
  • Produces work that is high quality, high impact – attention to detail is critical.
  • Collaborates well and effectively manages stakeholders.
