This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in shaping the medical strategy for our specialty medicine portfolio, driving excellence in scientific engagement, and ensuring that patient needs are at the heart of every decision we make. Collaborating across functions, you will provide medical leadership to support the development and delivery of therapies that truly make a difference.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead, coach, manage & develop their medical therapy team in Specialty COPD, to help deliver the GSK mission and to ensure achievement of company objectives.
- Setting ambitious business objectives and priorities and conducting appraisals to drive performance.
- Creation of a working environment conducive to successful implementation and team development.
- Generate and implement high quality medical strategic and tactical plans and activities that address patient, customer, and business needs.
- Uphold the highest compliance standards & provide authoritative opinion on medical and ethical matters to support colleagues across GSK.
- Accountable for review & examination and/or certification of materials under their team’s scope.
- Overseeing & writing of GSK’s response to complaints from bodies such as the PMCPA or MHRA.
- Ensure oversight of free of charge supply requests.
- Leading the therapy team on ownership & delivery of the medical aspects of the therapy area business plans.
- Co-ordinating and utilising specialist knowledge with therapy aligned colleagues in formulating and implementing short- and long-term medical strategy.
- Responsible for delivery of UK Medical Value proposition, through utilisation & implementation of the Medical Planning & Medical Impact frameworks.
- Lead the team to support creation & delivery of the Medical Digital & Technology plan for Omnichannel.
- Deliver high quality & tailored external engagement across the healthcare system & through strategic medical partnerships.
- Influencing evidence generation strategies in support of UK market needs & support research activities.
- Establish relationships and build trust with investigators to answer medical questions and provide relevant training.
- Identify opportunities for GSK involvement in activities that support patients and benefit the NHS.
Basic Qualifications:
- A GMC-registered doctor or a GPhC-registered pharmacist with significant experience as an ABPI final signatory.
- Relevant and proven expertise in the field of COPD Respiratory.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and lead in matrix environments.
- Broad experience within the pharmaceutical industry, with a deep understanding of medical affairs and scientific engagement.
- Extensive experience managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A proven track record of working as a strategic partner across functions.
- Experience with health technology assessment (HTA) submissions and appraisal processes.
Preferred skills and experience:
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams of medical and scientific professionals.
- Relevant experience with above-country teams for both launch and pipeline assets.
- Experience with digital tools and platforms.
- Experience driving innovation in medical affairs through new approaches to patient advocacy.
