The Global Procurement Manager (Logistics Fulfilment, Global Overland) will develop and own the end-to-end overland strategy. This role is responsible for delivering value across the end-to-end supply chain through cost optimisation, operational efficiency, sustainability and innovation.

Key responsibilities:
  • Develop and own the end-to-end overland category strategy (global road freight), bringing together market intelligence and data insight to understand cost drivers and shape the forward plan.
  • Interrogate spend data, including compiling and analysing a spend cube, to identify and quantify savings opportunities across the portfolio.
  • Continuously benchmark all aspects of the category, including rates, fuel indices, payment terms and contract clauses, identifying market best practice and bringing it back to GSK.
  • Drive implementation of improvement opportunities with stakeholders, converting benchmarking and analysis into real value.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements incorporating gainshare and continuous improvement commitments, and bonus/malus to align supplier performance with GSK outcomes.
  • Govern open-book and closed-book models and the 4PL relationship, validating cost transparency and ensuring value is delivered through the operating model.
  • Manage fuel surcharge and recovery mechanisms, including indexation and formula standardisation, to protect GSK against cost volatility.
  • Track, report and govern delivered savings against target, maintaining a clear and auditable savings pipeline and support in the annual budgeting process.
  • Lead the tender process and ensure compliance with GSK Procurement policies, procedures and risk and regulatory environments.
  • Lead supplier relationship management and evaluate vendor performance regularly, implementing improved plans to meet quality and service standards.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the business and global supply chain, ensuring alignment on critical objectives and smooth implementation of category strategy.
  • Identify and deliver on opportunities to lower CO2 emissions across the network and contribute to the design of the category sustainability roadmap.
  • Support in Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) processes to ensure quality standards are met and risks are mitigated.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in preferred discipline of Business, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
  • Proven experience in global procurement/logistics management role with a focus on global transportation, and ideally, related experience in warehousing and customs brokerage.
  • Previous experience in supporting category strategies development and execution.
  • Knowledge of market drivers affecting category and of the latest tools for executing sourcing strategies required for annual benchmarking, sourcing, and negotiation process.
  • Strong data and analytical capability, including the ability to work in spend cube data, or liaise with stakeholders or 3PL/4PL to consolidate data.
  • Negotiation skills necessary for complex negotiations across GSK markets, including open-book and closed-book cost models and gainshare or penalty mechanisms.
  • Experience in managing the delivery of global scale projects and change management.
  • Experience benchmarking commercial terms, including rates, indices and contract clauses, against market best practice.
Other Capabilities / Characteristics:
  • Proactive self-starter who takes ownership and drives outcomes without waiting to be directed.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver across multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Commercially curious, with a habit of scanning the market for best practice and bringing it back into the organisation to drive change.
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and a collaborative mindset.
