Global Congress Manager – Specialty Care Location: GSK HQ, London (Earnshaw Street HQ, WC1A) Reports to: Global Congress Director, Specialty Care Travel: International travel required Role Summary GSK has bold commercial ambitions for the future. The Global Congress Manager for Specialty Care plays a critical role in shaping and delivering GSK’s presence at global medical congresses. This is a senior-level role that connects strategic objectives with execution, working in close partnership with Global Product Strategy (GPS), Global Business Units, Local Operating Companies (LOCs), and external vendors. This position requires deep congress expertise , project management excellence, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, compliant, and on-brand congress experiences aligned with GSK’s specialty care priorities. Key Responsibilities Congress Strategy & Planning Serve as the executional lead for global Specialty Care congresses in alignment with commercial and medical objectives . Provide guidance on how congress participation can meet strategic business goals. Collaborate on annual selection of strategic congresses with Sci Comms leaders . Project & Vendor Management Lead end-to-end planning and execution of GSK’s presence at global congresses, including exhibits, symposia, meetings, sponsorship activation and booth staff training. Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, deliverables, and performance oversight. Oversee logistical planning with agencies (e.g., housing, registration, association relationships). Execution Excellence & Compliance Ensure all congress activities are delivered in compliance with GSK SOPs, EFPIA, and Scientific Engagement principles. Manage internal processes including but not limited to: content approval, due diligence, TOV reporting, documentation, risk mitigation planning / escalation , cross functional consultation with legal and metrics. Maintain detailed congress master files and contribute to quarterly compliance reviews. Cross-Functional Leadership Facilitate cross-functional congress planning meetings (monthly/bi-weekly/weekly) with internal stakeholders. Coordinate booth content, design, training, and onsite logistics in collaboration with Medical and Commercial teams. Act as liaison with congress organizers and scientific associations. Innovation & Continuous Improvement Introduce creative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions to enhance congress impact. Align congress presence with broader omnichannel strategies. Reporting & Deliverables Lead development of congress briefs, SteerCo presentations, and post-congress AARs. Drive delivery of objectives , booth designs, training content, and legal FAQ submissions. Setting and reporting on KPIs to demonstrate alignment between objectives and delivery Basic Qualifications Degree in Marketing, Business, Medical, Communications, or equivalent experience. Hands-on and proven end to end congress/convention planning experience and budget management from the pharmaceutical Industry. Knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing strategies and compliance standards. Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills. Comfortable working in a global matrix environment with international travel. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Fluent in English (spoken and written) Preferred Qualifications Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience in Specialty Care or rare diseases is highly advantageous . Collaborative mindset with excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities. Experience with vendor negotiations and external partnerships. Demonstrated customer focus, integrity and relationship building skills, consensus building skills.
