About the role: This Finance Manager role is responsible for driving the financial health of Haleon’s innovation portfolio, through building robust business cases for new product launches and ensuring that the innovation pipeline is financially strong. This role partners closely with R&D, Marketing and Supply Chain teams to ensure that innovation initiatives are financially sound, strategically aligned and supported by clear business cases.

  • Key responsibilities:
  • Financial Modelling - Develop high-quality end-to-end business cases that support go/no go decisions, investment prioritisation, portfolio optimisation and lead to successful innovation launches. Financial modelling to include revenue forecasts, margin analysis, ROIs, scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for better investment decisions, stronger launches, and a more profitable innovation portfolio.
  • Target Setting - Review Innovation ABP submissions from markets and collaborate to ensure plans are robust and viable.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis - Evaluate market size, pricing dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer economics to inform financial assumptions.
  • Portfolio and Pipeline Management/Governance - Maintain a clear view of the innovation pipeline and strong portfolio performance management across financial and strategic metrics.
  • Performance Tracking - Analyse ongoing performance of innovation initiatives to identify variances and recommend corrective actions to improve forecasting accuracy and ensure financial impact of the portfolio is optimised.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with R&D, Marketing, and Supply Chain to validate assumptions, refine concepts, and ensure financial discipline and feasibility of new product ideas. Work with Operating Units (OU’s) and markets to ensure robust business cases as we move through product development to launch.
  • Portfolio Optimisation - Lead innovation pipeline reviews with key stakeholders for each Brand/Category. Support strategic decisions on resource allocation, prioritisation, and long-term value creation across the innovation pipeline.
  • Executive Reporting & Insights - Prepare clear presentations and reports for senior leadership, looking at pipeline health and offering insights into how we can optimise and drive our portfolio.
  • Drive Technical Capability - Partner with Technical Team to close out system issues and work on longer-term solutions to drive innovation reporting capabilities.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Essential: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, and/or finance business partnering, ideally within FMCG or similarly complex industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders, adjusting style to suit.
  • Solid technical finance capability, including forecasting, ROI evaluation, and strategic analysis.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to challenge constructively, simplify complexity, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and across multiple functions.
  • Experience operating in complex, matrixed and global environments, ideally within FMCG; collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working independently in fast-paced settings.
  • Exposure to auditing, controlling, statutory accounting, and commercial spend management is an advantage.
  • Strong financial expertise across analysis, evaluation, forecasting, strategic planning, modelling, and senior-level decision support.
