Join GSK as an Executive Director leading Oncology Early Clinical Development in our Oncology Research and Development team. This leadership role bridges preclinical research and clinical development to ensure innovative therapies transition from lab to clinic.

Position Summary

As Executive Director, you will design and execute early‑phase clinical studies, drive translational research strategy, and provide cross‑functional leadership. The position requires on‑site presence 2–3 days per week in the US, UK, Switzerland, or Poland.

Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical development plans for Phase I/II studies, including first‑in‑human trials, dose‑escalation, and proof‑of‑concept studies.
  • Drive end‑to‑end clinical development strategy, aligning target medicine profiles and integrated evidence plans across all development phases.
  • Lead regulatory interactions and draft clinical components of IND, NDA, BLA, MAA submissions.
  • Partner with Oncology Translational Science, pre‑clinical research teams, AI/ML, Clinical Pharmacology, and Experimental Medicine to execute translational strategy.
  • Interpret complex translational and clinical data, advise on safety analyses, and prepare regulatory filings.
  • Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to Oncology Early Clinical Development Medical Directors and Clinical Scientists.

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD or PharmD (Advanced degree Required).
  • Clinical and research experience in Oncology focusing on early‑phase trial design and execution.
  • Experience with oncology treatment guidelines, clinical development process, and drug approval processes in major regions.
  • Prior experience developing and driving translational strategy (biomarker, companion diagnostic, PK/PD modeling).

Preferred Qualifications

  • MD preferred.
  • Board certification or clinical experience in oncology.
  • Experience in the gastrointestinal therapeutic area highly preferred.
  • Strong data analysis, regulatory knowledge of FDA, EMA, NICE, and GCP requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and business acumen.
  • Ability to engage in oncology clinical development culture and broader GSK environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary ($242,550‑$404,250 USD for US East Coast locations, $220,500‑$367,500 USD for other US locations) with annual bonus, long‑term incentive program, and comprehensive benefits including health care, retirement, and paid leave.
