We are looking for a capable (Quality) Continuous Improvement professional to join a high-performing team of quality specialists at our Barnard Castle manufacturing site. The Continuous Improvement and Data Expert (for Quality Systems) is responsible for process improvement and optimisation for the site's relevant quality systems, with particular emphasis on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data and Digital tools.
Working cross-functionally you will coordinate efforts to enhance quality systems, as well as integrate digital innovation initiatives and data governance frameworks. The role is technology savvy, supports the team's artificial intelligence journey, and enables the use of digital tools, Power BI dashboards and metrics-driven insights to improve decision making, visibility and performance management.
In delivering continuous improvement you will coach and directly support the Quality Systems Team. The role works hands-on with system owners and cross-functional teams to understand current processes, identify compliance and performance risks, and deliver practical improvements to the effectiveness, efficiency and inspection readiness of the site's Quality Management System (QMS).
The role supports all relevant quality systems on their continuous improvement journey by challenging and guiding on the execution of process flows, SIPOCs, FMEAs, metrics, governance routines and improvement plans, while helping teams resolve issues, remove barriers and embed sustainable ways of working.
The role drives improved performance across systems such as: Deviations and CAPA Change control, documentation, training compliance, data integrity, digital quality systems and inspection readiness (ensuring improvements align with GSK standards, regulatory expectations and site quality priorities).
This role is an important position within the site's quality systems team. It ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, drives data integrity, and fosters a culture of quality excellence across the site.
Note: This secondment / Fixed Term Contract (FTC) is expected to last circa 18 months in duration. Please ensure you have spoken with your line-manager to ensure they are supportive of your application (this includes a timely-release from your current responsibilities should you be offered the Secondment).
As a member of the site Quality team you will operate in a multi-faceted way, liaising with a wide variety of on-site production and operations teams. You must be a highly self-motivated person with strong experience of working in continuous improvement (ideally from a regulatory or quality functions and/or manufacturing at a complex highly-regulated manufacturing site).
Strong people skills (including a proven ability to influence people to achieve objectives and drive performance) are a pre-requisite for the role. Degree in relevant Scientific, Technical or Engineering discipline or strong equivalent experience (ideally gained working in a manufacturing facility from a highly-regulated industry).
Knowledge / experience of utilising Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data and Digital tools to deliver Continuous Improvement initiatives. Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements. Knowledge and application of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
