We are looking for a capable Continuous Improvement professional to join a high‑performing team of quality specialists at our Barnard Castle manufacturing site.
The Continuous Improvement and Data Expert (for Quality Systems) focuses on process improvement and optimisation of the site’s quality systems, with particular emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI), data and digital tools.
The role coordinates cross‑functional efforts to enhance quality systems, integrating digital innovation initiatives and data governance frameworks, and supports the team’s AI journey through Power BI dashboards and metrics‑driven insights.
Responsibilities
- Apply continuous improvement techniques to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency and inspection readiness of the site’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Coach and support the Quality Systems Team, working hands‑on with system owners and cross‑functional teams to understand current processes, identify compliance and performance risks, and deliver practical improvements.
- Challenge and guide teams on the execution of process flows, SIPOCs, FMEAs, metrics, governance routines and improvement plans, removing barriers and embedding sustainable ways of working.
- Drive improved performance across quality systems such as Deviations and CAPA, Change Control, documentation, training compliance, data integrity, digital quality systems and inspection readiness, ensuring alignment with GSK standards, regulatory expectations and site quality priorities.
- Support all relevant quality systems on their continuous improvement journey, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and fostering a culture of quality excellence across the site.
Requirements
- Degree in a relevant Scientific, Technical or Engineering discipline, or strong equivalent experience gained in a highly‑regulated manufacturing environment.
- Highly self‑motivated individual with strong experience in continuous improvement, ideally within regulatory or quality functions and/or manufacturing at a complex, highly‑regulated site.
- Strong people skills, with a proven ability to influence and drive performance across teams.
- Knowledge and application of Good Manufacturing Practice (c GMP) requirements and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Experience utilising Artificial Intelligence (AI), data and digital tools to deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions and performance management.
- Contract Details
This secondment / Fixed Term Contract (FTC) is expected to last circa 18 months.
Applicants should discuss the contract with their line‑manager to ensure support for a timely release from current responsibilities.
