Business Introduction: We are a specialist pharmaceutical company 100% dedicated to developing medicines to treat and prevent HIV. Born out of a partnership between GSK and Pfizer in 2009, with Shionogi joining in 2012, our ambition is to end the HIV epidemic. As the pioneers in HIV innovation, we constantly look to push the boundaries of science to develop medicines that can change lives and give people more choice. Beyond our medicines, we are proud of our deep connection with the HIV community and work with partners to advance research and development, address HIV-related stigma, increase access to our medicines and provide funding and support to local community organisations to support their efforts in the HIV response. We are ViiV Healthcare. Here until HIV and AIDS are not.

Position summary: You will join the Global Health Outcomes function within ViiV Healthcare and lead the design and delivery of robust, decision-relevant evidence for an assigned portfolio of HIV treatment and prevention medicines, whether in clinical development or already established in the market. You will shape integrated health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and value evidence strategies spanning real-world evidence (RWE), clinical outcome assessments (COAs), evidence synthesis and economic modelling. Working closely with research and development, medical affairs, market access, commercial and external stakeholders, you will build fit-for-purpose evidence plans that answer the questions decision-makers care about most. This role combines scientific leadership with genuine strategic influence. You will set a forward-looking clinical outcome assessment (COA) and patient-centred outcomes (PCO) strategy, embedding differentiated endpoints that demonstrate meaningful value to patients, clinicians, payers and healthcare systems. Partnering with asset teams, whether shaping the evidence package for innovative medicines in development or strengthening the value story for established medicines in a competitive market, you will ensure every ViiV medicine is supported by scientifically credible, high-quality evidence that meets the requirements of regulators, health technology assessment (HTA) bodies and payers. Your work will directly inform product positioning, value propositions and value-based pricing, and help secure patient access, appropriate use and commercial success. Success in this role requires strong scientific judgement and the ability to lead and influence in a complex matrix environment.

Key responsibilities: This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Define the integrated evidence strategy for your assigned assets, bringing together patient-focused outcomes, economic models and real-world evidence to meet regulatory, payer and other stakeholder needs.
  • Represent value evidence in cross-functional integrated evidence teams and decision forums, influencing the key decisions for your assets, whether in development, at launch or in market.
  • Define a Clinical Outcomes Assessment strategy for each asset, ensuring alignment with disease area needs, regulatory expectations, and payer evidence requirements.
  • Drive the identification and integration of differentiated endpoints to strengthen value propositions across assets.
  • Guide the development and use of fit-for-purpose instruments and endpoint frameworks, supporting consistency and scalability across the HIV portfolio.
  • Partner with patient outcomes, clinical development, medical affairs and market access to translate strategy into study design, endpoints and evidence plans.
  • Engage external stakeholders (payers, HTA bodies, guideline groups and academic partners) to ensure evidence meets decision-maker needs.
  • Oversee the quality, compliance, budget and delivery of health outcomes and real-world evidence studies for your assets, whether generating pre-launch evidence or post-launch evidence that sustains access and differentiation.
  • Build strong relationships with country, regional and global teams across medical, market access, R&D and commercial, ensuring global evidence plans translate into local access and medical priorities.

Additional information: Reporting line: Senior Director, Global Health Outcomes, ViiV Healthcare. Primary location: GSK London HQ (UK). Secondary location: Durham (NC, US). Presence onsite: hybrid. Business travel: limited. People management involved: N/A.
