Role 1 - Virology Education Internship

Overview of the Department: This role is an opportunity to join a function that stretches across all business functions, whether global, regional or local. During your placement with Medical Operations, you will have end‑to‑end ownership of assigned project deliverables such as the Virology Education Conference sponsorship programme.

Key Placement Learnings:

• Owning the end‑to‑end management of the Virology Education Conference sponsorship programme.
• Participating in and assisting in running cross‑functional strategic planning sessions.
• Multi‑functional stakeholder management.
• Stakeholder workstream management.
• Agency liaison; coordinating with external partners to support project delivery.
• Collaboration with congress operations managers.
• Evaluation of global strategy implementation.
• Delivery of materials within local regulatory frameworks.

Role 2 - ViiV Medical Digital Coordinator

Overview of the Department: Global Medical Digital drives and enhances the use of digital, data, analytics and AI solutions to complement and strengthen Medical’s ability to better understand, address and even anticipate the needs of those impacted by HIV.

Key Placement Learnings:

• Coordinating Content Lab activities.
• Working on generating AI based videos.
• Creating and maintaining SharePoint Sites.
• Data management and reporting activities.
• Researching and presenting on new medical digital technologies.

Role 3 - ViiV Global Medical Affairs

• Degree Requirement: Biomedical Sciences.

Overview of the Department: Join a dynamic and fast‑paced medical affairs team with a strong interface with the research and development team.

Key Placement Learnings:

• Conduct literature searches and support development of internal and external medical training materials.
• Collaborate across medical, commercial and finance teams.
• Perform data gap analysis to inform clinical trial strategy.
• Develop project management skills.
• Facilitate internal meetings and manage communications.
• Contribute to administrative tasks.

Role 4 - ViiV Regional Medical Affairs

• Degree Requirements: Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Pharmacy.

Overview of the Department: The Regional Above‑country team supports countries across Europe and International regions.

Key Placement Learnings:

• Support the European above‑country medical affairs team.
• Deliver above‑country activities.
• New starter medical onboarding and training sessions.
• Support community/patient advisory board meetings.

Role 5 - ViiV Global Paediatric Medical Affairs

• Degree requirement: Biomedical Sciences preferred but open to other Life Sciences.

Overview of the Department: This role supports the overall mission of paediatrics across the portfolio.

Key Placement Learnings:

• Engaging in targeted literature reviews.
• Owning the end‑to‑end management of specific paediatric projects.

• Actively participating in cross‑functional strategic planning sessions.
• Providing support in implementing the medical education strategy for paediatrics.

Role 6 - ViiV UK Medical and Patient Affairs

• Degree requirements: Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Chemistry.

Overview of the Department: ViiV UK Medical Affairs plans, develops and executes all medical and patient affairs operations for the UK.

Key Placement Learnings:

• Execute Medical Affairs strategy and tactics.

• Contribute to the development of impactful medical materials.
• Contribute to Patient Affairs operations.

Role 7 - ViiV Healthcare Regulatory Affairs

• Degree requirements: Life Sciences or equivalent.

Overview of the Department: The ViiV Healthcare Regulatory Affairs team ensures the development, approval, and compliance of HIV medicines.

Key Placement Learnings:

• Provide support to the team facilitating collaboration.
• Management of regulatory activities and related documentation.
• Participation in committee meetings.
• Coordination of team meetings, minutes and reports.
• Develop an understanding of global regulatory affairs.

Role 8 - Global Congress Strategy and Program Development

• Degree requirements: Science, medicine, pharmacy, or a related field.

Overview of the Department: Global Congress Strategy is responsible for driving annual congress planning across therapeutic areas.

Key Placement Learnings:

• Support to develop and drive TA‑level congress plans.
• Ensure all congress narratives and plans are aligned.
• Support the team to evaluate and shape congress KPIs.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic plans.
• Project management skills over multiple projects.

Role 9 - Global Medical Affairs

• Degree requirements: Biological, Biomedical Sciences or other life sciences.

Overview of the Department: GSKs Global Medical Affairs department ensures the safe and effective use of GSK’s pharmaceutical and vaccine products.

Key Placement Learnings:

• Collaborating on enterprise‑wide initiatives.

• Developing medical strategies to support product development.
• Disseminating clinical data through publications.

Additional Requirements:

• You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree.
• You must be enrolled at a UK or ROI University for the duration of your placement.
• Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English.
